Interview with Agent Claire McFarland

Claire is one of our many agents and a great friend. Claire knew Dan due to going to St. Theresa’s with his sister. Then without knowing it, Claire and her husband Mark bought a house right across the street from us. To say that we value Claire and her family would be an understatement. They have become family to us, so get ready to also fall in love with Claire McFarland!

M: What’s your professional background?

C: After studying music therapy at the University of Kansas, I made a hard pivot and got into restaurant management. My time in restaurants gave me a strong foundation in customer service, which has benefitted me to this day. It also taught me that I crave a flexible schedule and being my own boss. I then moved on to become a home stager! I was finally self-employed, running my own company, Kansas City Staging, LLC. I soon realized that what I really wanted was to become a realtor.

M: Do you consider yourself to have a specialty in this market?

C: My time as a home stager taught me a lot that applies directly to real estate! I can look at any house with my buyers, whether its vacant or cluttered, and talk them through a good furniture layout. I can also help my sellers get their homes ready to list by giving them advise on what to do to get their homes market ready and get the most return on their home.

M: Other than real estate, what are your passions around Kansas City?

C: Singing and working out! Peloton has changed my life.

M: Dream house in Kansas City?

C: A brookside home with a big front porch!

M: What do you see as the biggest change we need to see in this market?

C: More inventory! I want everyone to be able to become a home owner! I do pride myself in always getting my buyers under contract fairly quickly.

M: Final Meal, what we having/where we going?

C: A little bit of everything on the menu at Farina.
